we did it gentlemen, we found common ground for Edelgard and Dimitri. Peace in our time.

So yeah, Dante just confuses and annoys Edelgard. She knows she was a little uptight about the way she confronted him, but his flippant attitude and casual disrespect did not endear him to her at all. She just doesn't know what he gets out of acting so boorishly or if people actually tolerate that sort of behaviour from him or find it as charming as he seems to think it is. Edelgard's own feelings about Dimitri are complicated as is, but she still acknowledges he has dignity, and has been through A Lot and she doesn't really want to see him humiliated or made the butt of a joke just because some hooligan thinks he needs to be brought down a peg.

I do like the idea of them starting to mend bridges before finding out what Edelgard's all about brings it crashing down and just really solidifies the mutual dislike. Funnily, Edelgard might come away from that thinking it's a bit hypocritical on Dante's part if she finds out much about him. Like he's never killed a supernatural creature to protect the world? I mean, they both have white hair, dress in red, and have complicated relationships with their siblings. Maybe that's why they'll end up disliking each other so intensely. XD

and everyone knows DMC was an underrated classic that reinvigorated the franchise and was a refreshing breath of air in a series that had become stale and tired. Really deserved more of a chance than people were willing to give, oh yeah Dante, SHE WENT THERE.

but then i keep thinking about how it'll remind him a lot of vergil in a way, back when, and it'll just anger him and make him go against her beliefs and the like. who knows!!! i'd love to see where their cr flows and i'm just so excited for it

same here, I wouldn't have expected Dante of Devil May Cry fame to have so much interesting CR with Edelgard but I am here for it however it shakes out
