Mercedes adores Felix!! While there's really nothing about him that's similar to Emile (except maybe now that she knows what Emile's become, this kind of battle thirst), Mercedes can't help but feel sisterly towards Felix because he gives off the feel of someone treasured and cherished but also someone worth worrying about. That feeling has really only escalated with having him be in the other faction, because while they've largely had opportunities to work together, she's aware that such a thing can't and won't last. And she really doesn't want to fight Felix when that happens, so he's currently the one she's most worried about right now.

But she trusts Felix and relies on him as a friend and comrade, even if she does feel concern that seeing her from five years earlier might be hard on him, like she does with everyone else. She knows he'll continue to push himself and take risks and she won't always be around to help him (hence why she's grateful for Marianne) and in the end, she just wants Felix to Be Okay.
